On November 21, 2025, the results of the 2025 Academician Election of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) were officially announced, with a total of 144 individuals elected. Among them, 73 new CAS Academicians and 71 new CAE Academicians were selected. Of the newly elected academicians, 13 are female scientists. Additionally, the CAS elected 27 new foreign academicians, while the CAE elected 24 new foreign academicians in 2025.
Following this election, the total number of CAS Academicians stands at 908, with foreign academicians totaling 173; the total number of CAE Academicians reaches 1002, including 148 foreign academicians.
