Gong：Hello everyone,this is Xiaoming Gong from Beijing,and we're in Pattaya,Thailand.We are joining the ISGE meeting.Now we invite DR.John Sciarra,he is the former present of FIGO,and also the former present of ISGE.And DR.Sciarra,you have a new book published online,and could you make an introduction of this book?

记者：大家好，我是来自北京的龚晓明。我们现在在泰国的帕蒂亚，参加第18届ISGE会议。现在我们邀请John Sciarra教授接受采访，他是FIGO的前任主席，也是ISGE的前任主席。John Sciarra教授，您有一本新书上线了，可以介绍一下这本书吗？

DR.Sciarra：Thank you very much.I'm John Sciarra and as was mentioned,I have a new project call .And I like to take a minute to tell you a little bit about this project because I think it's very exciting,because it's avaiable on the Internet,without charge to doctors all over the world,particularly in the developing countries.

John Sciarra教授：谢谢。正如前面所介绍的，我出版了一本新书，名为.我想花几分钟来介绍一下它，因为它不仅是本有趣的书，而且可以通过互联网来阅读，对于全世界，尤其是发展中国家的医生都是免费的。

For many years I was the editor of a series calledwhich was published in United States,and it was a loose-leaf publication meaning that every year we sent out new pages,they were taken and put in to the series and the old pages were taken out.And this publication was in existense for many many years,but in 2004 for fanaicial reasons the publisher decided to terminate the publication.

多年来，我一直是《妇产科学》（）这套书的主编，它在美国出版，是一本活页的书，也就是说每年我们都会加入新内容，并且删除掉一些陈旧的部分。这本书多年来一直发行，直到2004年，出版商因为经济原因决定中止它的出版。

So at that time we decided that it would be best if we could take the material they had been accumulated by 450 different chapters and several hundred contributors.And we could convert it to electronic product on the Internet.And it took some time to get all of this done and updated.But in November of last year,at a speacial meeting at The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London,England. We launched this new product.And it's called and it's published by Sapiens Publishing in England.But it's totally on the Internet,there's no paper publication.So to access , you have to go on the computer and on the internet to www.glowm.com and that will give you the entry to the homepage of .

所以那时我们决定，将这份由450个不同的章节组成、几百个撰稿者写就的材料保存下来，我们可以把它变成电子文档，放到网络上去。整理并且更新这些材料花费了一些时间。但是直到去年11月，在英国伦敦的皇家妇产科学院召开的一个会议上，我们才决定正式开始这个项目，它被命名为，由英国Sapiens出版公司出版。但是它全部放在网络上，没有出版成实体书。所以，想要阅读，你必须通过电脑连接到互联网，访问网址：www.glowm.com，你才能进到这本书的主页并开始阅读。

And as I metioned earlier,it consist over 450 chapters and all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynecology,family planning and related to deciplines.And there're some unique features to this that it can only be done on the Internet,we could never do it in the paper publication.

就象我刚才说过的，它由450多章组成，包含了妇产科学、计划生育的各个方面，也涉及了各个指南。这本书还有一些独特之处，使得它只能在互联网上阅读，而不能通过出版成书来阅读。

For example,there are videos of surgical procedures,there are of the laparoscopic operations.There are links to different websites like the food and drug ministration in the United States.There are links to PubMed.There are 40,000 references.There are patient information forms that can be downloaded by doctors and given to their patients.And there are other features such as commentaries.People can write a comment and then it will go to one of the editors and if we think that is a useful comment we will leave it on the website.All of the material is period reviewed by editorial board,and the editorial board is from all over the world including China.And the authors are from all over the world as well.So it really is an International publication we call . www.glowm.com , and we hope that there will be lots of interest in this Global Library of Women's Medicine in China and in other Asian countries. So I think that's the summary and I hope that's what you wanted me to do.
