A research team led by Professor Xiang Yang from Peking Union Medical College Hospital joined forces with Professor Sun Pengming’s team from Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital to publish a landmark research finding in a journal of the Nature portfolio. The study systematically elucidates the dichotomous oncogenic role of CD112, a novel immune checkpoint, in cervical cancer progression, which simultaneously mediates tumor immunosuppression and ferroptosis metabolic resistance. This finding breaks the inherent limitations of single-target immunotherapy for cervical cancer and delivers an innovative combinatorial target and translational theoretical foundation for overcoming PD-1 inhibitor resistance in patients with advanced cervical cancer in clinical practice.
